It is shown that Issei had sacrificed his left arm to achieve a psuedo-balance-breaker state. Issei recovers from his injuries on the day of the engagement party and Grayfia gives him a magic circle card, allowing him to crash the party and face-off against Riser in a rematch-as proposed by Rias' older brother Sirzechs Lucifer. During the match everything seems to go mostly to plan, until Issei's stamina runs out and Rias begrudgingly resigns to stop Riser from beating Issei to death. Rias starts falling in love with Issei after seeing his determination to help save her in the upcoming match. Rias has everyone go to her mountain summer house for training in the ten days they have until the match. Grayfia suggests they hold a Rating Game to solve their problems the winner would be allowed to determine the fate of their engagement. Riser Phenex, Rias' fiancée, shows up in the club room with Grayfia to demands that Rias' engagement to him be moved up, but Rias is against the arranged marriage. Rias attempts to have sex with Issei but is caught and taken away by Gremory housemaid Grayfia Lucifuge.
